Founded in in the 1920s and revitalized in 2017, the Wells Democratic Town Committee is dedicated to promoting the principles of the Democratic Party in the Town of Wells, the State of Maine and the nation through voter education, and the election of Democratic candidates, and providing an open forum for the exchange of ideas among members.
Every Democrat registered in Wells is automatically a member of our committee. Come to our meetings to get to know like-minded neighbors who support Democratic values. We meet at 6 pm at the Wells Public Library, 1434 Post Rd, Wells, ME 04090 on the third Wednesday of every month or on Zoom during the winter.
We participate in town events like Harbor Fest and the Family Jamboree. We attend hearings on initiatives like reforming the Comprehensive Plan Process and keeping our beaches accessible. We support
Sustainable growth while protecting our environment
Affordable housing for working families.
Women’s and reproductive rights.
Preserving our natural resources.
Gun safety.
Voters’ rights
LGBTQ+ rights
Transparency in government
We participate in the spring Beach Clean Up sponsored by the Wells Police Department. Every year we award a scholarship to a high school student graduating in Wells.
